It has been such a looong time I haven’t posted anything. Wow, since October – and now Christmas is right around the corner! I think it’s time to write a post talking about what we have been doing and wrapping up our 2016.
First of all, Huy and I can’t wait to meet our baby who is due in about two months! I’ve made a little “announcement” on my Instagram but this is the first time I’m sharing it on our blog. This big change inspired me to do a little watercolor series about pregnancy and its funny moments which you can see on my Behance page. During the past month, I’ve got significantly bigger and decided not to overwhelm myself this holiday season with too much work. So no big craft fairs or any huge project from now until the baby is born. We only participated in the Pop-up Market at the Asian American Arts Alliance. It was a cozy and casual event where we met many fellow Asian artists, makers and designers (plus the music and the food were great!)
Second of all, we are moving! We will still be in New York City but we are leaving Manhattan and migrating to Brooklyn. We will miss the Lower East Side where we are living right now but Brooklyn is a better match for us at this point (more space + Prospect Park = yay!)
With these two big events coming up, we have been uber busy preparing: buying and making baby stuffs (I was sewing blankets and bonnets, making baby mobile and Huy is building a baby gym – so much fun!) + buying and making some new furnitures for our new apartment! I will definitely share some snapshots on the blog once we settle in.
I have also been very busy working on some freelance holiday projects. I recently finished some illustrations for Bleubird, Crop Magazine by The Coffee House and Tpot Magazine. All of them will be uploaded to my Behance with all my other personal projects.
2016 has been an eventful year for us and Chic+Nawdie. 2017 will sure bring a lot more changes. We can’t wait for this new chapter in our life. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season with your families and hope all your goals, plans, and dreams will come true in 2017!
