We decided to have a new category called Out of Frame which features content that is non-drawings/ paintings but more real-life-experience through photography. It’s not on a piece of paper like most of Chic+Nawdie journal is about, hence the name Out of Frame. You can think about this as what Chic+Nawdie see everyday. It also features some work in progress snapshots that give you behind the scene info about Chic+Nawdie are created. Hopefully, this will make you get a closer to Chic+Nawdie and their wonderful world.
The past weekend, we took a little break from the Big Apple and escaped to upstate New York. New England’s fall is at its peak and the color was astounding! We rent a small barn house near Kingston, NY. The house has a little porch, a great lawn for our buddy Kitsu to run around and especially an upstair room full of sunlight. See our lovely weekend in pictures below!
We started the day early with two things we love the most in this weather: a hot cup of coffee and a warm soft throw.
Our buddy Kitsu was beyond happy to be able to run around freely in the barn’s lawn (this is impossible in New York City!) After thirty minutes, he got his face all dirty.
Our desk set up ready for work! Sketches and painting of Chic+Nawdie have been piled up recently…
Without our light box, we found a new way to trace.
The day passed by so quickly and this is what dinner looked like: lots of grilled food and some guacamole we made with ingredients fresh off the local farmer market.
